A City of Opportunity, Moving Forward
There is no secret to my plan. My focus is on people and community to move Maplewood forward together.
My focus is building a stronger, more vibrant community by:
-
Building a City of Opportunity
- Building Trust, Voice, and Partnership
- Safety Through Trust, Prevention and Accountability
- Investing in the Everyday Experience

I’ve always believed in putting people before politics and recognizing that people matter more than the bottom line. This work isn’t about politics—it’s about fixing potholes, working together, and doing what’s needed to move Maplewood forward as a city that works for everyone.
Economic Development

Building a City of Opportunity
-
Launch an initiative that prioritizes small and local businesses in city contracting, events, and redevelopment opportunities
-
Actively recruit responsible, community-aligned development near transit corridors and underutilized commercial areas
-
Use data and technology to make more informed business decisions that support long-term economic stability
-
Strengthen partnerships with the county, regional agencies, and neighboring cities to help residents and businesses navigate existing training, career, and support programs—bringing resources together without duplicating services
Community Engagement
Building Trust, Voice, and Partnership
-
Host a monthly Coffee and Conversation with the Mayor
-
Strengthen partnerships with cultural, faith, and community organizations that work closely with residents
-
Establish clear feedback loops so residents see how their input influences decisions, publishing summaries of what was heard and what actions were taken
-
Increase language access
-
Improve communication so residents are informed and involved, not just notified
-
Ensure city boards, commissions, and engagement efforts reflect the diversity of Maplewood, removing barriers to participation so every resident feels welcomed, represented, and empowered to shape decisions.

Public Safety

Safety Through Trust, Prevention and Accountability
-
Work with local partners to advance prevention-focused strategies, including youth engagement, mental health response, and community-based support
-
Serve as a bridge to strengthen collaboration between public safety, schools, nonprofits, and service providers
-
Ensure transparency and accountability measures that build trust rather than fear
-
Support officers and first responders with training, resources, and clear expectations
-
Center public safety around relationships and outcomes, not just enforcement
Infrastructure & Quality of Life
Investing in the Everyday Experience
-
Prioritize infrastructure investments that residents use daily—parks, sidewalks, community spaces, and facilities
-
Build on current efforts by continuously evaluating and modernizing city services and systems to better serve residents
-
Ensure long-term planning for buildings and facilities so repairs aren’t deferred at greater cost
-
Align transit, housing, and public space investments to improve connectivity and livability
-
Evaluate projects through a quality-of-life lens, rather than cost alone
